Academic-industry interface is becoming vital as part of bridging the gap between academia and industry. We had 2 industry experts from the domain of IT and Engineering addressing the students. The first speaker, Mr. Pramod is the Managing Director – Regional Telcom Consult Service LLC and his delivery was awe-inspiring for students weaving his 20+ years of rich experience, with all its subtleties and distinctions into a short session such as this. His explanations with relevant examples and insights into Gen X, Y, Baby Boomers and Gen Z and how to understand and integrate oneself with the tide of mixed generations, its challenges, talents and attitudes were quite exemplary. That was indeed a master stroke.
The second speaker Ms. Hiba Aijaz is the Internal Solutions Specification Manager – Saint Gobain, Dubai. She shared her own career path that candidly presented before the students: your career path from a marketing intern as your first stint with the corporate world to how today you have positioned yourself to deal with the leading Architectural firms in the region. All this in such a short span of time since graduating. This was very motivating to all of our students and has instilled in them a sense of pride and confidence and an ‘I can do’ attitude.
